Kurt Giusti, Via Giusti Wines
In 2009 Kurt Giusti felt a call to honor and preserve the Giusti Family’s 150-year Sonoma County farming tradition and continue the family legacy, which has transcended into Via Giusti Wines. Winemaking was a part of the family heritage, but only for personal use, but now the family is sharing their road with everyone. Knowing that the ranch was a priority, Kurt has always been a part of the family business and splits his time between the family ranch, running the winery and managing overall ranch operations during the week. Kurt takes pride in the fact that he is continuing the family tradition in Sonoma County agriculture, and is also growing the family brand by expanding into the wine industry beyond farming, a tradition and business he hopes to one day pass onto his son. “We take pride in our heritage and the efforts we put into each part of the ranch operations. I know that the attention to each detail makes all the difference in the quality of everything we do, especially the wines!” Salute!”
Michael Kobler, Kobler Estate Winery
Michael Kobler has taken reigns as the next generation vintner at Kohler Estate Winery is a family-owned and operated California winery, located in beautiful Sonoma County, specializing in in Rhône and Burgundy varietals, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Grenache, and Viognier. We craft appellation and single-vineyard wines in a style that focuses on delicate flavors with vivid, yet balanced, notes of fruit and spice.
Lloyd Davis, Corner 103, Sonoma
Lloyd Davis grew up in a family that regularly enjoyed wine with meals. Throughout the years his love of wine and wine tasting grew. He started making wine in 2008 in a style that was very approachable, crafting limited production wines that showcase each varietal as well as the region in which they grow. In selecting a varietal, Lloyd took into consideration the soil conditions, weather and vineyard location, all of which affect the flavor characteristics of the grape. This allows him the ability to create very approachable wines that reflect the true quality of that region. Committed to continuing his track record for producing award-winning wines, Sonoma County was selected as the ideal location to introduce his newest brand.
Richard Sowalsky, Clos Pegase, Napa
Richard Sowalsky has been the Winemaker at Clos Pegase since 2010. Richard relies on extensive winemaking experience and a diverse educational background that includes enology, medicine, and the culinary arts to create estate wines of the highest quality. When asked about the winemaking process Richard states, “My approach to winegrowing begins as an intensive learning process in the vineyard. Then I adapt all of my winemaking to realize the full potential of each site in the finished wine.” This is the same spirit that Clos Pegase was founded on in 1984 and continues to drive us through today. Careful crafting is used to accentuate the intricate delicacy of fruit rather than hide it behind overbearing winemaking techniques. We consider Clos Pegase to be in the tradition of the classic Napa style where wine balances with food in an elegant way.
